About Kris

Kris is a good ole southern boy,  having been raised in Alabama (ROLL TIDE!).   His family is all back there. His mom, Sherry,  is on the show a lot as the Tony & Kris American Idol EXPERT, and the rest of the gang includes dad, sister, brother-in-law and the cutest nephew in the world. Kris started in radio when he was a teenager. He just showed up at a radio station and wouldn't leave!  He met Tony at a rock station and they decided they should get into mornings together.   They've been radio partners for about 16 years. To answer the question now--YES, Tony and Kris are friends. No one could  work with somebody this much & this close if they didn't like them. He likes all kinds of music but is partial to country of course.  Tony & Kris have had the good fortune to be nominated for and win many broadcast awards,  ACM & CMA among them.  They have appeared in many TV shows & even a TV movie or two (IMDB Kristian Rochester).  Kris' hobbies include boxing, movies and running. He has also been known to party. He  was married for about 10 years but now enjoys the single life.

Long Weekend Ahead
Thursday 08-28-2008 6:00am PT

Still have not had a chance to set up my Wii fit, hope today.  Had a great burger last night at Ruby's Diner and saw NO tv.  Kind of weird for me to not see any.  Had to spend a lot of money on a website we did not need.  Tony and I have a Tonyandkris.com but NOT Tonyandchris.com.  Well, someone decided to make that a porn site, so we finally bought back that website even though I don't spell my name with a C, so we can avoid confusion.  Kind of sucks to have to do that.  The other thing is a couple of people that have ties to the industry have said they heard Tony and I don't get along.  I don't understand where that stuff comes from.  Heard it from day one about other morning shows in town too and I know it's not true.  Think people think that cause Tony and I don't hang out a lot outside of work.  Well, Tony and his family live 50 miles away from me and Tony and I don't just work a normal job together.  Our job is to "talk" about everything going on in our lives for 5 to 6 hours a day.  We really get to do what friends do during our work time.  Long story short.  Tony and I are tight as ever and never have to this day had a real arguement.  Football season for Crimson Tide fans starts Sat. night at 6pm on ABC.  Just saying.

Sad

Well I had high hopes for a new bar that opened near the station called Kahn's Cave Bar and Grill.  It's only a wine and beer bar so that hurt.  Jack and I stopped by there the other night and it seems like a nice place to eat though.  I'm also a little upset at JP's pub.  A while back one of the JP high level execs had told me that they were going to start a deal where you can buy mini burgers for a dollar each, so all you have to say is 4 for 4, 6 for 6, ect..  It has not happened yet and I still have to buy the 3 burgers in a package deal.  Imagine the hold up is corporate paperwork.  Ok, this is where I see if anyone reads this.  I have seen two movies that I would NEVER have picked to watch and they were not bad.  I'll reveal tomorrow.  How about that, a blog tease.  Feel free to guess though.  One's a chick flick with Mandy Moore, the other is from a Fantastic actor that he produced and was on our show talking about it when it was out.  The Dem convention continues and I still have not watched it, sure I'll be able to say the same about the Republican convention.  That's all I got today.
OUCH

Had a great weekend.  Went to Rancho Cucamonga this weekend.  Had a great date at Flemings, the steak is so awesome, then to a bar where a friend works the door.   The drawback of going there is this tiny 75 year old woman who is trained in reflexology.  I go to her since I have a tight back.  My foot is still hurting.  She tore me up.  How a tiny old lady can almost make you cry is beyond me.   On a good note, got a Wii Fit.  Can't wait to set it up and get going.  How do you not accept people on your facebook or Myspace that you don't want to be friends with but they reqest you?  Just curious if there is a secret to not ticking people off that you know, but not that well.  Tony is excited about his theatre stuff and I might just have to go one day to shock him.  He turns 40 this week, and Lexi is starting her final year of high school.  It seems like yesterday, he and I were punk kids taking a free trip to San Diego to interview for a job we thought we'd never get and like yesterday that Lexi was crawling around and correcting my grammar.  I am going to try and NOT drink for the next month except for the occasional glass of wine or Vodka/soda.  Ok, I start tomorrow with that.  Wait, going to Jack Johnson this week so after that.  Football season is getting closer and closer.  Excited about that.  :)

ANGRY

The people (mostly the OLD) at Costco, drive me crazy.  Tried to get in and out yesterday and at the end of every aisle was a group of people sampling food and blocking everyone else.  They moved from aisle to aisle and made it impossible to shop.  When I am president that will be the first thing I fix.  Looking at houses right now.  Lot's of good deals out there.  I'm consumed with who should be in the new A Team movie.  Here's my dream cast.  Hannibal is Bruce Willis, Murdock is Woody Harrelson, Face is the Rock, and BA could be LL Cool J...  That's all I got right now.
Back and ready

Hi all.   I'm back.  Quick trip to Nashville, then off to Gulf Shores.  Love my condo there and it was good to hang with my family, and then some friends came over too.  I had a friend Eddie, that I have not seen since 92 come over with his family and stay a night.  It was fun.  Another buddy of mine from Nashville came down and also a radio friend does radio down there and got to see him.  The flights are always an adventure with me.  Going out there, Continental really took care of me.  I have NO idea why but they bumped me up to first class so that flight was great, coming back on American it was just funny.  The Captain never quit talking.  I kept trying to sleep and he kept coming on the speaker saying his name and what was to one side, his Olympic predictions etc..  I'll try to post some pics from my trip soon.  My condo pics are posted in a link in a previous blog.   Got back and had a "day Date" yesterday.  It was fun.  We went to beach, lunch at Luigi's in Mission Beach, then had a couple of mixed drinks (we are rebels) just laid out and listened to music then headed back late afternoon and had dinner at Miguel's a great mexican place.  It was a great day. Today I start the dreaded, back on my diet, work out thing.  Here's the link again.  http://www.meyerre.com/property/Lagoon_Tower_1402
I hate drive thru's
Thursday 08-07-2008 8:08am PT
Ok, so some friends are down from Ontario area.  Took them to Carl's Jr.. I got everyone's order ready.  Get to the drive thru and the lady won't let me get the order out without pushing upsizing, or asking a million questions. "I need one number 2, one number 4, 1 number 6, all with Sprite and medium.  That's all I wanted to say. The lady kept stopping me after each meal with the questions and I finally said please let me order and then you can ask the questions you have.  She said "I can't do that sir".  CRAZY,  anyway, eventually it was handled and everyone was happy with their meal.  Saw Hancock again, liked a little better this time.  It's a great rental, so see when it comes out.  TV is not good right now and even worse the Olympics are coming.  Got my bike down off the rack and hope to start riding again soon.  It's going to be fun.
Football!
Wednesday 08-06-2008 7:50am PT
It's almost here.  Football season.  I love it.  Get to watch my Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturdays and on Sunday love the Chargers and Cowboys.  Where is the best place in San Diego to watch games?  I mean, going to do the cook out thing at my place a lot with friends but sometimes like to watch the game in a bar.  Had a macaroni ball at Cheesecake factory last night, not bad.  Cruised the Otay Ranch Mall and it's really a nice mall.  Different than the other ones in San Diego.  Still expanding too.  I know Oggi's Pizza is opening up next week and some other stores too.  Still learning to operate my new phone.  I'm sure about the time I get it down it will be outdated.  Just counting down to my trip to Nashville, and then my condo in Gulf Shores.   Can't wait.

If you got kids in school, Kmart and Sears have specials on notebook paper right now.  I think it's like 5cents a book of 70 sheets.   My neighbor is a teacher and her school bought like 2000 books and Tony and I are going to match that to help her school.  It's a cool deal if you can get in to get your kids stocked up.  Had a great dinner last night at PF Changs, we had the mongolian beef and noodles, lettuce wraps, oh yeah.... A few dirty martinis and a couple manderin cosmos for my friend.  Again, what's the deal with the toll thing in Chula Vista.  Can people please stop putting dollar bills in the change part and jamming it.  Good Lord.  Got a great item for the beach, pool, and camping.  It's called an ipod bucket from Brookstone.  It's a waterproof ipod player and it sounds great.  Hey do us all a favor.  Please tell your friends even email them our links of blogs and photos so that we can grow our show.

Kris' Blog "From TJ to Ontario and Lightning"
Monday 08-04-2008 6:44am PT

I'm glad to report NO JP'S Pub related injuries this weekend.  Friday was a laid back watching tv night.  Went to TJ, to take some stuff for a friend to her house.  When we came back accross the border I saw maybe the most gross thing ever.  I thought the peanut butter bacon burger we had Friday was different, but at the border they were selling "Chili mixed with Ice Cream".  Ate at a place near Ontario yesterday called Famous Dave's.  Almost the best Barbeque I've had in California next to my friend Larry Schroeder who's food is pretty darn good!  That's all I got right now......more later.  Got an email from my mom.  Guess our house got hit by lightning again, it happened when I was a kid.  This is the DETAILED account of what she sent.....My favorite thing is that my mom mentioned my bro in law went to check AFTER volleyball.

Good morning Son,
Yesterday afternoon, there were a lot of people at Bill's playing volleyball.  It was not raining but it was thundering.  Kori, Randy and Ethan were up there too.   Gayle  was there cooking hotdogs and hamburgers.  Anyway, lightening struck the biggest oak tree we have in our front yard.  Directly across from Dawn and Rob's.  Gayle saw it strike.  It striped the bark from the top to the bottom. It blew bark everywhere.  Rob of course came running out, and everyone from Bill's.  Don kept yelling for everyone to go inside.  He was afraid it would strike again nearby.   Then Mr. Bone called.  He wanted Randy to go over to see if his A/C was fried.  He thought lightening struck it too.  Randy went over after volleyball.  That's 2 lightening strikes for us.  We'll have to have the tree cut.  It is probably well over 100-150yrs.
Love to you and looking forward to seeing you soon.

Concerts are coming.   Radiohead, Jack Johnson, and Carrie Underwood.  Get your tickets now.  All will be great.  Getting ready for the live show tomorrow in Ramona.  Then it's going to be a chill weekend.  Got to drive accross the border to help a friend drop some stuff off then head back and mostly relax.  Lot of pool, and rent a movie or two.  Would not mind going on a hike either.  What's the deal with Facebook?  Is that like Myspace or is more for older less gossipy people?  Think I like Facebook better.  Just my opinion.  I'm not even going to attempt to understand twitter.  Football is coming SOON, I'm so excited.  Larry King said he's not leaving his wife so we all can rest easy.  Dog the bounty hunter is back on tv, so the world is a better place.
